And one for Poppy too...

It was also Dad's birthday this week, so I made him the card below. Excuse the close-up. Suffering from the flu, I think I was a bit groggy and got somewhat carried away. Thankfully, Dads always accept homemade cards with love and care, especially my wonderful Dad. Happy Birthday Poppy!

Carmen Miranda

I clearly didn't keep my promise from my last post to create and post immediately thereafter. But this isn't to say that I haven't been creating in the meantime! In fact, I've made a card for my mom that showcases a recycled Carmen Miranda stamp that she used to send a card to me. We call my Mom 'Mama Shetto' because she is in love with Carmen Miranda and has been known to dance and sing around the kitchen, a bunch of grapes atop her head, crooning away as though she were the Queen of Samba herself. Take a look and let me know what you think.

I'm now a first grade teacher, and so the times are a changin' for EmmyBo Originals. They now have their own spot on a shelf in my kitchen, but haven't seen action for a while. It's a busy time, and this is neither here nor there, but what I really want to do is maintain my creativity. Create, create, create. It's my goal, for at least this weekend :-) SO here goes...let's see what I can come up with in just two days!

Mother's Day... Check!

Whilst thinking about what card to get my Mama for Mother's Day I started thinking, I could get her something like this from a place like...well let's just call it "Halldot"....

But then I thought- wouldn't it be so much better to get her a card from someone who would absolutely love to have their homemade cards bought and shared? Sure..."Halldot" cards can be cute and funny too, but there's not the same feeling of excitement for "Halldot" when a card is sold. So, I decided to browse etsy to see what I could find instead. Here are some of the treasures that I found:
